We all know "Tiny Dancer" - the 1971 single from Elton John with lyrics by Bernie Taupin.

Taupin wrote the song after a visit to Los Angeles, attempting to capture the spirt of Southern California in 1970 and being inspired by the beautiful women he met.

It's only appropriate that the song's video should be shot in LA.

It just took 46 years to do it.

A competition called Elton John: The Cut was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his songwriting collaboration with Taupin.  The competition invited independent filmmakers to submit treatments for music videos for one of three Elton John songs from the 1970's, with each song falling within a specific concept category. "Tiny Dancer" was selected for the live-action category, with the competition won by Max Welland.

The video, which is now the official video for the song, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival as a winner.  It follows several Angelinos as they traverse the city in and out of their cars.
